Array-Pro Analyzer Version 6.3 Software Offers New Automation Tools for Microarray Analysis and Windows 7 Support
April 25, 2011 – Bethesda, MD – Media Cybernetics announces the release of Array-Pro Analyzer Version 6.3 image analysis software. Designed for molecular biologists, this microarray and high-density array software provides tools to achieve maximum signal to noise, repeatability, and quantitative accuracy. This latest version of Array-Pro Analyzer includes enhanced file support, new measurements, new reporting tools, and support for 32- and 64-bit Windows Vista and Windows 7 operating systems.
When analyzed manually, even the smallest position change in spot definition can produce dramatically different results. Array-Pro Analyzer’s computer algorithm automation produces the same results of analysis from user to user, so the results are repeatable. Plus, manual analysis that often takes days to complete now takes place in seconds with the automated analysis of Array-Pro Analyzer.
New and improved image file support has been added to Array-Pro Analyzer Version 6.3. The software has been optimized to allow users to open larger image files. Users of Axon Instruments scanners can now read spatial resolution from the X and Y resolution tags. And, those who use GenePix Array List (GAL) files will see improved support, including the ability to read orange packing from the layout, and an increase of the maximum number of features to up to 4.4M per image.
New measurements have been added to Array-Pro Analyzer 6.3 to provide additional quantitative tools. The coefficient of variation measurement allows users to perform a standard deviation of the background, divided by the mean signal value. Saturation percentage calculates the percentage of saturated pixels to all pixels in the spot. Users can also quantify the percentage of pixels with signal above 1 and 2 standard deviation of the background.
A variety of feature enhancements have been implemented in Array-Pro Analyzer 6.3 based on user feedback. Users now have the ability to align grids using the weight of the cell groups. They can also work with an improved experiment wizard that will simplify how they create new templates and run experiments. And, a new wizards macro allows users to generate reports of their current experiment using a Microsoft Word template.
Array-Pro Analyzer is sold through Media Cybernetics and their worldwide reseller network. To learn more about Array-Pro Analyzer and watch the free Array-Pro video tutorials, visit www.mediacy.com
